Lazy Lasagna

Utensils:

LARGE SKILLET, ELECTRIC SKILLET, 3qt SAUCEPAN, 3qt STEAMER & FOOD PROCESSOR
Serves 6-8
 

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 8 oz pasta (no precooking)
  • 24 oz mozzarella cheese (#2 cone)
  • 40 oz low-fat cottage cheese large cured
  • 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • 6 oz can tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion salt
  • Parmesan cheese
  • 1 package dry Italian dressing

Directions:

Preheat 3qt saucepan over medium high heat water and steam ground beef in steamer unit to eliminate grease. Cook 10-15 minutes. Dump greasy water out of saucepan. Mix the ground beef, tomato sauce, tomato paste, garlic powder, onion salt and Italian dressing mix. Build 2 equal layers in the cold skillet in the following order: tomato sauce, dry pasta, tomato sauce, hamburger, cottage cheese, mozzarella cheese and repeat, sprinkle parmesan cheese over top. Start skillet at medium heat and cook until moisture appears around the lip of the pan and cover is hot to touch. Reduce heat to low (NOT SIMMER) and continue to cook an additional 30 minutes. Let stand for 30 minutes before serving.
