Guacamole Burger

Sometimes you just need a BURGER!

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 8 Slices Turkey Bacon
  • 4 2% Slices Swiss Cheese
  • 4 Avacados
  • 2 Limes
  • 1 Can Rotel Tomatoes
  • 1/4 Cup Fat Free Sour Cream
  • 1 pkg McCormick’s Guacamole Seasoning
  • 4 Whole Wheat Hamburger Buns
  • Seasoning: Salt, Pepper, & Garlic Powder
  • Garnish: Mustard, Lettuce, Tomato, & Red Onion

Directions:

Slice the avacados in half and scoop out the avacado meat. Mash with a fork. Slice the limes in half and using the citrus squeezer, squeeze out the lime juice over the avacado. Stir in the rotel tomatos, guacamole seasoning, and sour cream. Allow to sit in the refrigerator for the flavors to combine while you prepare the rest of the meal.
 
Combine the ground turkey to taste with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Divide into 4 equal portions and form into burger patties. Heat the large skillet on medium heat; when it’s ready, add the burgers to the pan and cover, whistle open. When the whistle sounds, flip the burgers and recover, whistle closed. Turn the burner to low and continue to cook for 5-7 minutes or until done. Add the cheese on top of the burgers and allow to melt.
 
Add the bacon to a cold griddle; cook on medium heat until crispy. Set aside. Lightly toast the burger bun. Assemble each burger with about 1 TBSP guacamole, two slices of turkey bacon and your favorite garnishes.
 
Enjoy the rest of the guacamole as a great alternative to mayonaise on a sandwich or just for a heart healthy snack through the week.
